2011 Grand and National Champions

Congratulations, Clint Wu!

On July 9-10, 2011, Clint Wu became National Champion of adult group in traditional martial arts, long weapon title, and short weapons during the 13th International Chinese Martial Arts Championship in Orlando, Florida. He won six gold medals (Northern long fist, open hand form, other hand form, short weapon, open weapon and moving step push hand) and the title of Grand Champion.

This follows another success earlier this year: in June 2011, Clint became National Grand Champion at San Jose, CA at the 2011 USAWKF Golden State International Wushu Championships, in adult group of traditional martial arts, long weapon title, and short weapons.

Last year, Clint was awarded with Grand Champion during 2010 awards in Dallas and Washington, DC, winning the titles of ICMAC (International Chinese Martial Arts Circuit) National Grand Champion, Hand Form National Champion at the ICMAC, National Lightweight champion at the ICMAC Push Hand National Championship, and runner-up U.S. weapons adult group.

Clint Wu graduated from Bellaire high school this year, and has won the 2011 Chinese Professional Club’s Scholarship, 2011 United States Council for Southern Scholarship (ACAP), 2011 Joint Chinese College Alumni Association Southern USA Scholarship, 2011 Helen Gee Chin Foundation Scholarship (http://www.hgcscholarshipfoundation.org/home), and the President’s Achievement Scholarship. He will start college this August at UT Austin and major in computer science.

Congratulations for his 4 years of hard work and high achievements!
